The Own Brands food team at Zooplus leads the planning and management of our own pet food brands through the whole product lifecycle from launch to market maturity. As Product Manager – Private Label Food, you will be responsible for driving the development your brand(s) and its assortment, successfully addressing the emotional needs of our customers as well as the commercial requirements of a dynamic e-commerce business. Requirements

Your Responsibilities in this role:

  • Strategic and operational brand and project management with sales responsibility for the respective private labels
  • Development of competitive marketing plans for existing and new private labels and ensuring their implementation
  • Brand positioning without further guidance
  • Interpretation of existing reports and continuous key figure analysis as well as optimisation with regard to the cost situation, article availability, margin, turnover
  • Continuous shelf maintenance and optimisation in the sense of increasing customer satisfaction and quality assurance
  • Control of promotional measures and derivation of recommendations for action to achieve the respective sales targets
  • Collaboration in the development of the specific private label brand strategy in close cooperation with the Group Product Manager
  • Independent management of external design and translation agencies
  • Handling of declaration templates in over 20 different languages in accordance with directives/regulations in consultation with the Expert Team
  • Interface function to sales & marketing, replenishment, accounting and external partners and suppliers

Job Requirements

  • Graduate degree in relevant discipline, preferably economics/business administration/marketing
  • Significant professional experience in product management in FMCG, retail or pet food
  • Expertise in the independent support and development of brands and private labels
  • Experience managing external agencies
  • Analytical skills combined with the ability to cope with large, complex data sets
  • Proficiency in dealing with the relevant marketing processes and levers of a retailer, ideally e-commerce
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills, foreign language skills are an advantage
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on mentality and flexibility
  • High level of initiative and creativity for new ideas and to find solutions
