About us

In 1999, a small group of people had a great idea: to bring pet shops online and make life easier for pet lovers. Today zooplus AG is Europe’s leading online retailer of pet supplies. With over 8 million active customers in more than 30 European countries and 1,8 billion Euro revenue in 2020, zooplus is comfortably the market leader in the online segment. zooplus currently employs more than 800 employees in 10 international locations, working in the areas of Sales & Marketing, Category Management, Purchasing, IT, Logistics, Finance and HR.

At zooplus, we believe e-commerce to be the sales model of today and for the future. E-commerce has become one of the fastest developing areas of business. Modern logistics centers, and the use of big data and personalization, mean that online sales can be handled with increasing efficiency. As the category leader – a major European e-store with pet-related products – we want to continue to be at the forefront of e-commerce. While we aim to achieve continuous growth, we remain faithful to the key values of our company– a dynamic and flexible approach, constant learning opportunities, and inventive thinking at every level in the organization. The satisfaction of our customers – animal lovers – remains our primary goal, and the trust they place in us is the highest honor. Thanks to the passion of our employees, our customers in over 30 European countries can rest assured that their order is in good hands.

In our Oxford office in the city center you will currently find around 20 employees that work with international colleagues in the following departments: Pricing and Content Management, Online Marketing, Direct Marketing, Customer Care, Purchasing, Category Management, Graphic Design, Translation Services and Office Management/ HR.

I joined zooplus UK in June 2017 and was welcomed by friendly colleagues who also turned out to be incredibly capable at their jobs. Working with such intelligent and supportive people has been very inspiring for me, leading to my professional and personal growth. The company has also played a big role in this - zooplus puts a lot of resources in training and employee satisfaction, organising frequent workshops as well as company celebrations. Thanks to zooplus I had the chance to meet and work with very interesting people across all offices.

I joined zooplus in May 2015 so almost 4.5 years so far, and it’s such a dynamic and evolving company. I was very nervous at first, joining such a big company, but I was given lots of training and guidance so soon got to know everyone and felt at ease. Since then my skills and experience have gone from strength to strength, and I am always learning and developing better ways to approach and manage my daily tasks. Zooplus offers interesting experiences and positive challenges, it is a great place to work if you want variety and sometimes the out of the ordinary. A really fun environment and a nice friendly culture, we have very supportive colleagues across our entire network. If you are looking for something outside the norm, that will expand your horizons and give you a lot of enjoyment along the way, then zooplus is the place for you.

I joined zooplus in 2010 and I am now the Senior Direct Marketing Manager, having recently celebrated my 10-year anniversary. When I started the company was in its infancy in the UK but expanding very rapidly. It's been an incredible experience to have watched the company go from strength to strength over the years and continue to do so. I feel so privileged to be a part of its success. The team in Oxford are second to none, their collective talents, drive, and dedication are now entrenched into the ethos here and we are all the stronger for it. I firmly believe this is what makes zooplus such a remarkable place to work.

I joined zooplus in July 2015 as new graduate; I was looking for a job that would not only utilise my German language skills, but would also provide creative opportunities and a fast-paced working environment. zooplus has been the perfect fit for me - I now work as a Private Label Manager and every day, my job gives me an entirely new experience. Whether it is working with the Central team to launch a new Private Label brand, or implementing a new campaign to grow sales, to translating marketing copy, no day is the same for me! zooplus gives its employees the scope to work independently and effectively when dealing with the different challenges that arise day-to-day, but I really value the collaborative environment that exists within the UK Team; our team is always supportive, innovative - and always willing to raise a glass when we hit a new milestone!
